CAAS is located on the Tilden High School campus in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY, about a half way between LaGuardia and JFK airports. Opened in September 2008, CAAS currently serves 9th and 10th grades.

>CAAS is on the Tilden High School campus built in 1929.
>Following a recent trend in NYC Public Schools, Tilden High School has been subdivided into small schools. In this phase of Tilden's evolution, the campus houses CAAS, the Kurt Hahn Expeditionary School, and the It Takes A Village Academy (ITAVA).
>The school auditorium displays a massive 2,400 square foot wall mural painted in the 1930s as part of President Franklin Roosevelt's WPA.
>The campus has three gymnasiums, an indoor swimming pool, and a rifle range (no longer in use).
>Portions of the movie "The Lords of Flatbush", starring Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler, was filmed on campus in 1974. The 1994 movie "Above the Rim" was also shot on campus. The movie starred Tupak Shakur and Marlon Wayans.
