The Salem-Keizer School District cooperated closely with the National Educator Program to
provide their educators the opportunity to have
a national conference in their own district. Their decision to do so made their funding go farther, allowed them to have concurrent sessions target-
ing areas of specific need and let 1,000 of their teachers and administrators access to national experts on student achievement and school improvement. Some of their volunteers are shown above at the registration table.
The NEP provided a similar conference to Hillsbor-ough County Schools in Florida in June 2005 and again in June 2006. |

Billie Donegan is a very popular NEP-contracted speaker. She has extensive knowledge in career academies, 9th grade transition academies, and demanding rigor
from all learners. Billie was a keynote
speaker at the NEP's 2006 SLC Success Conference in Boston. She is currently
based in Colorado Springs, Colorado and
heads Keystone Education. |
Steve Sassaman has been with Performance Learning Systems for more than twenty years.
Based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Mr. Sassaman
is a highly sought-after speaker. His sessions in Salem were:
