The Salem-Keizer School District cooperated closely with the National Educator Program to

provide their educators the opportunity to have

a national conference in their own district.  Their decision to do so made their funding go farther, allowed them to have concurrent sessions target-

ing areas of specific need and let 1,000 of their teachers and administrators access to national experts on student achievement and school improvement. Some of their volunteers are shown above at the registration table.

The NEP provided a similar conference to Hillsbor-ough County Schools in Florida in June 2005 and again in June 2006.
